Following a ruling by the Supreme Court, helmets were made compulsory for pillion riders in Bengaluru from Wednesday. The rule was effective from January 12, but the police had given an 8-day relaxation to buy helmets. Action will be taken against the violators of the rule by the City Traffic Police and RTO officials.
