The Goa transport ministry has decided to make helmet mandatory for both two-wheeler rider as well as pillion rider, from October, it said on Thursday. Arun L. Desai, Director, Transport, said that awareness drives will be conducted, across the state, that has 14 lakh people and 7.5 lakh two-wheelers. As of now, helmets are mandatory for two-wheelers on highways.
