Doctors in Delhi have reported a sharp rise in hepatitis A and E cases, largely due to water contamination and poor sanitation. Children and pregnant women are particularly vulnerable. Symptoms include jaundice, abdominal pain, vomiting, and fatigue. Both are caused by the ingestion of the Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and Hepatitis E virus (HEV), transmitted through a faecal oral route.
