Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to establish charging infrastructure for EVs in India. A statement by the companies said they would start by establishing charging infrastructure at HPCL's existing energy station network. Each charging station will feature multiple smart and fast DC and AC chargers for all two-wheeled EVs.

Indians with H-1B visas and Green Cards in the US will now have to carry their ID 24/7 as part of a directive by US President Donald Trump's administration. The requirement applies to all noncitizens. The directive went into effect on April 11 and aims to crack down on illegal immigration and deport millions living illegally in the US.

Three people have been killed as protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act spiralled into violence in West Bengal's Murshidabad. Over 150 people have been arrested, according to a government statement. A Russian missile hit an Indian pharmaceutical company's warehouse in Ukraine, officials said. "While claiming 'special friendship' with India, Moscow deliberately targets Indian businesses - destroying medicines meant for children and the elderly," Ukraine's Embassy in India said in a post on X.

United States President Donald Trump has excluded smartphones, computers and other electronic items from the reciprocal tariffs, including the 125% tariffs he imposed on Chinese goods, according to a Customs and Border Patrol notice. This comes amid concerns by tech giants, including Apple, that gadget prices may rise due to Trump's tariffs, as many of them are manufactured in China.
