While speaking on husband Irrfan Khan's health, Sutapa Sikdar said, "My best friend and my partner is a 'warrior' [and] he is fighting every obstacle with tremendous grace and beauty... I'm truly humbled [and] indebted for the wishes, prayers and concern from all over the world." Irrfan had earlier revealed that he has contracted a rare disease.
