Central government employees retiring a day before their annual increment date will now receive a notional increment for pension calculation, following a Supreme Court ruling. Effective from May 1, 2023, this benefit applies only to pension and not other perks. The decision affects around 48.66 lakh employees and has been welcomed by the All India NPS Employees Federation.
