HIIT optimal exercise for reducing body fat in older adults: Study

High intensity interval training (HIIT) may be the optimal exercise for reducing body fat while maintaining muscle mass in older adults, a research led by UniSC academics said. While moderate training reduced fat mass, it also caused small decline in lean muscle, the research found. HIIT likely works better because it puts more stress on the muscles, the study added.
