Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh Rana has been booked for allegedly assaulting a National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officer, Achal Jindal, during a site inspection. Rana has denied the charges and said that locals have "registered an FIR against NHAI officials for their abusive behaviour". Jindal is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Shimla.
