The country’s national language Hindi, spoken by around 260 million people, is the fourth most common language in the world, a report by the British Council in London revealed. Another Indian language -- Bengali (193 million) has also featured as the world's seventh most common language. Mandarin Chinese (848 million) topped the world's most common language category.
