Hitler asked Porsche founder to make Volkswagen Beetle

Ferdinand Porsche, founder of Porsche, got a contract from Adolf Hitler in 1934 to build a 'people's car', or the Volkswagen, for the Germans. Porsche created a small and affordable car for the working class which could carry a family of five, called the Beetle. The legendary automotive engineer was born 141 years ago on September 3, 1875.
