H&M plans to close 250 stores worldwide in 2021

Swedish clothing company Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is planning to shut 250 of its over 5,000 stores worldwide in 2021. "Sales were significantly negatively affected by COVID-19 situation, particularly in the second quarter when stores were temporarily closed in most markets," said H&M. It added that the plan to shut 250 stores comes amid rising online purchases due to COVID-19.
