Maharashtra Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde said on Thursday that property tax on houses with an area of up to 500 square feet in Thane may be waived off. Shinde said that a proposal for the same was discussed at the government's weekly cabinet meeting. CM Uddhav Thackeray announced a similar relief for Mumbai residents on January 2.
