The Italian village of Maenza has become the first in Rome's Latium region to start selling homes for €1 (approximately ₹87). Applications for the first few houses to go on sale will close on August 28 and more houses will be available soon after. Buyers will have to pay a €5,000 deposit guarantee to restore the properties within three years.
