Opting for no-cost EMIs can actually make people pay more, as sellers often remove discounts available on upfront payments to adjust the interest they'll pay banks on the buyers' behalf to make the EMI no-cost. Additionally, banks' processing fees and GST on the interest charged to the buyer increase costs. Multiple simultaneous no-cost EMIs can also affect credit scores.
