Government has issued advisory to states to keep a check as cases of Zika virus infection were reported in Maharashtra. Zika virus is a mosquito-borne infection primarily transmitted through bite of infected Aedes mosquito, US' CDC stated. It can also be spread through sexual intercourse with infected person, infected pregnant woman to their foetus, blood transfusion and laboratory exposure.
