How can the VLC media player double your speakers’ output?

Audio is a series of numbers dictating amplitude levels, range from -32768 to 32768. Meaning if you want 150% volume, these numbers are multiplied by 1.5. But the output won't exceed set limits; this process is known as audio clipping. VLC amplifies input sound beyond its original encoding, but it can't truly double your speakers output
