Closure of Strait of Hormuz would have a bearing on India’s macros, "including things like impact of fuel prices on inflation," said Aditi Nayar, Chief Economist at ICRA. Nearly 50% of India’s crude oil imports move through it. However, according to experts, India is well-positioned to stave off a major short-term supply shock as it has alternative sources of supply.
