The US is considering a proposal to remove the 60-day grace period that H-1B workers have to find a new job after being fired by their visa-sponsoring employer. The proposal may hit Indian-origin workers substantially, as lakhs of them hold H-1B visas. If passed, the new rule may force them to leave the US as soon as they're fired.
