Maharashtra stayed ahead of cloudburst-like rain in Nashik, using indigenous Bharat Forecast System (BharatFS), developed by Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. The AI-assisted weather forecasting system predicted cloudburst-like rainfall over Nashik nearly 24 hours in advance, using advanced atmospheric modelling & supercomputing. This allowed authorities to take emergency measures on time.
