Broadband Telecom's Indian-origin CEO Bankim Brahmbhatt is accused of defrauding BlackRock, world's largest investment group, of over $500 million (₹4,435 crore). The fraud began in 2020 when BlackRock's credit giant HPS began lending to Brahmbhatt's Carriox. Brahmbhatt stopped answering calls and shut offices after an HPS employee found irregularities with email addresses of Carriox's customers.
