India's Olympic gold medal-winning javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who was born on December 24, 1997, is nicknamed 'Sarpanch' (village head). His father Satish Kumar had gifted him a sparkling white kurta when he was young and overweight. He once wore the kurta after which his friends started calling him 'Sarpanch'. The name has stuck ever since.
