In FY2002-03, he earned ₹5.92 crore from foreign commercials for ESPN, Pepsi and VISA and claimed 30% deduction under Section 80RR, which is meant for artists and actors. However, the Income Tax Assessment Officer initially contested the move before the tribunal upheld it.
