Since 2004, names of tropical cyclones in the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea have been assigned from a list of 64 names submitted by different countries. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Sri Lanka and Thailand suggested different names for the comprehensive nomenclature list. Notably, if the storm causes death and destruction, the name is retired after use.
