How do Panna diamond miners extract and process stones?

Once a lease is granted in Panna, miners get an 8×8 metre plot and begin extraction using a traditional but systematic process. Soil is dug out, screened, washed, dried and then carefully sorted to spot potential diamonds. Labour may be hired, but method remains largely manual. All recovered stones must be submitted to the Diamond Office for valuation and auction.
