An employee earning ₹12 lakh annually would gain ₹1.2 lakh after a 10% hike but pay ₹46,800 more in taxes after marginal relief, reducing the net benefit to ₹73,200, according to ClearTax. For ₹16 lakh and ₹20 lakh earners, additional tax outgo rises by ₹29,380 and ₹48,100, respectively. Additional tax outgo rises to ₹2.82 lakh for ₹50 lakh earners.
