A decline in the value of the Indian rupee against the US dollar can lower the value of investments in domestic assets, while the value of investments in foreign assets may remain unaffected. A fall in the rupee's value can make debt instruments like debentures and bonds costlier, but equity MFs stay unaffected. It can also make imported products costlier.
