While binge-watching TV shows is a common way to destress, it can harm a person's health if it becomes a coping mechanism, affects sleep, causes fatigue or makes a person isolate themselves, according to registered psychotherapist Natacha Duke. "If somebody doesn't have a social support network, grieving...end of a TV show can be another source of depression," she added.
