How does EPFO invest employees' PF money?

The EPFO manages retirement savings worth around ₹30 lakh crore belonging to nearly 30 crore members. It currently allocates 45-50% to government securities, 35-45% to PSU and corporate bonds, and 5-15% to equities, among other instruments. EPFO is considering investing 3% of its fresh annual inflows in alternative investment funds (AIFs), including those funding startups.
