An exit load is a fee charged by mutual funds when investors withdraw within a specific period, usually 1 year. Most equity funds levy a 1% exit load on early redemptions. As per SEBI rules, this fee isn't kept by the AMC but reinvested into the scheme, benefiting long-term investors by supporting the fund's NAV.
