Mpox, declared a global public health emergency by the WHO, spreads mainly via close contact with an infected person. "Close contact includes skin-to-skin (like touching or sex) and mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-skin contact...and can also include being face-to-face with someone who has mpox," WHO stated. It also spreads through contact with objects, fabrics and surfaces used by an infected person.
