Gut and brain share a two-way relationship, and chronic stress can disturb the gut microbiome, a community of good bacteria vital for digestion, immunity, and mood regulation, Moneycontrol reported, citing Dr Neerja Hajela. Disturbances to the gut microbiome can lead to fatigue and increased inflammation. Stress can gradually weaken the gut lining, leading to a ‘leaky gut’, Dr Hajela added.
