How does the recently tested US long range anti-ship missile work?

The AGM-158C is a US air-launched Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) designed to detect and destroy enemy ships at long ranges. According to reports, LRASM uses jam-resistant GPS and inertial navigation to reach the target and can automatically alter course if enemy defences are detected. The missile, with a 1,000-pound warhead, doesn't rely on active radar, making its detection more difficult.
