In 2014, Manjunath Marappan and Ashok Kannan set up India's first free-range farm where birds are not caged. Their Happy Hens Farm, with a daily production of 20,000 eggs, now partners with small farmers in three states and made Rs 8 crore in revenues last year. The organic Omega 3-rich eggs are priced at Rs25 per piece.
