MS Dhoni was bought for ₹6 crore by CSK in IPL 2008 auction. He was retained for same price till IPL 2010. From IPL 2011-2013, he earned ₹8.28 crore/season. He earned ₹12.5 crore/season from 2014-2017, ₹15 crore/season from 2018-2021 and ₹12 crore/season IPL 2022 onwards. He could be retained as uncapped player for ₹4 crore by CSK for IPL 2025.
