Gold price touched a fresh record high of ₹1,34,800 per 10 grams on Friday, continuing its powerful rally that started earlier this year. In 2024, the precious metal was priced at around ₹76,000. Gold price was around ₹1,670 in 1981, ₹3,200 in 1990 and ₹4,400 in 2000, according to Moneycontrol. It reached ₹18,500 by 2010 and crossed ₹48,000 in 2020.
