How Iranian missiles got through Israel's air defence system?

Israel's air defence system, known as 'Iron Dome', failed to intercept two Iranian ballistic missiles that hit residential areas near Dimona and Arad, not far from one of Israel’s most sensitive nuclear facilities. While some Iranian missiles are capable of manoeuvring mid-flight, some can split into multiple projectiles before impact, making them harder to intercept.
