What is casein allergy and how can it be managed?
short by / on Monday, 9 June, 2025
Casein allergy is an immune response to milk protein, distinct from lactose intolerance and can cause hives, swelling, or anaphylaxis. Early diagnosis and using casein-free alternatives are essential for management of the allergy. Milk, yoghurt and cheese may trigger a casein allergy. People with such an allergy should switch to oat, almond, or hemp milk.
