Income Tax Department uses NUDGE Taxpayer system to identify tax evaders based on their transaction history and behavioural insights. Finance Ministry said NUDGE uses data analytics on transaction records from third parties, like SFT, TCS and TDS, to record people making high-value transactions either without filing ITR or after filing wrong ITR. The ministry called it a "non-intrusive approach".
