How is the President of India elected?

The President of India is elected indirectly wherein MPs from both Houses, and MLAs from all Assemblies participate. Every MLA is given a specified number of votes based on his/her state's population, with Uttar Pradesh MLAs' vote value being highest. The votes are given on ballot paper in order of preferences for the candidates, least-voted of whom get eliminated one-by-one.
