The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati began offering 'laddoos' to the Lord and as prasadam in 1715. Those who prepare the prasadam belong to a particular sect and have to shave their heads and wear a single clean cloth while being in the kitchen. The ingredients include ghee, chickpea gram flour, small sugar cubes, cashews, camphor, cardamom and raisins.
