Union Minister Chirag Paswan condemned the incident in which a shop owner was allegedly assaulted for not speaking in Marathi in Thane. He said, "It's beyond my understanding how many divisions will be created among Indians - sometimes in name of region, sometimes language, religion, or caste." He added, "Some leaders, to fulfil their ambitions, engage in such divisive politics."
