Iran tensions may prolong NRIs' stay in India, altering their tax status. They're taxed only on Indian income, but becoming residents makes global income taxable, reported News18. An individual becomes resident if they stay in India for 182 days or more, or stay for 60 days or more in a year and 365 days or more in last four years.
