There's no legal limit for storing gold at home in India, provided it's obtained from a legitimate income source and the income source can be explained. There are limits on gold jewellery that can be stored at home without showing any proof. The limits are 500 grams for married women, 250 grams for unmarried women and 100 grams for men.
