How one student changed India’s internet law

In 2015, the Supreme Court struck down Section 66A of the IT Act in Shreya Singhal vs Union of India. The law allowed arrests over online posts deemed offensive. The court held it violated free speech under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. The case became a major milestone for digital rights and online freedom in India.
