Poor sleep and mental health negatively affect cholesterol levels. Short or poor sleep increases LDL (bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL (good cholesterol). Stress and depression also raise LDL and total cholesterol. Addressing sleep and mental health through better sleep hygiene, therapy, and stress management can help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
