How the war in West Asia could make plastic items more expensive?

The ongoing war in West Asia could drive up cost of plastic products, from cutlery and bottled drinks to garbage bags, CNN reported. With over 99% of plastics derived from fossil fuels, any increase in energy prices directly impacts production costs. Crude oil has risen from about $67 a barrel to over $98 at its peak since start of war.
