To check urea adulteration in sugar at home, add sugar in water and smell it after it dissolves. If there is smell of Ammonia then the sugar is adulterated. To check chalk adulteration in sugar, a person should take a glass of water and add 10gm sugar in it. Sugar adulterated with chalk will leave impurities at bottom of glass.
