The Department of Consumer Affairs has shared ways to check authenticity of gold jewellery. The department said buyers should check BIS Logo, marking for purity of gold in carats and fineness, and 6-digit alphanumeric HUID code. The department added that the HUID code will be unique for all jewellery articles.
