How to check for pink dye adulteration in sweet potatoes?

FSSAI has shared a simple method to check if sweet potatoes have been adulterated with Rhodamine B (pink dye). For this, a person needs to take a cotton ball soaked in water or vegetable oil and then rub it on the outer surface of the sweet potato. If the cotton ball turns reddish violet, it is adulterated.
