How to choose between higher EMI and longer home loan tenure?

A rise in home loan rates forces borrowers to choose between higher EMIs and longer repayment tenures. Godrej Housing Finance's Mehernosh Tata said borrowers with stable incomes and sufficient budget flexibility could increase EMIs to limit additional interest costs. Others could extend the tenure to keep monthly payments manageable, but this would increase the loan's total cost, he added.
